Arjun Singh Gandham was a passenger in a Seat Leon which hit a parked car on Pelsall Lane, in Rushall, Walsall, last Friday evening.

The 19-year-old was confirmed dead at the scene.

In a statement, Arjun's family said: "Our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend.

"Arjun was a hard working, witty and loving young man. Any room he entered lit up with laughter.

"Arjun thrived on bringing people happiness and joy. We are devastated by the loss of Arjun but receiving so much support and seeing how much he was loved brings us great comfort.

"We would like to thank everyone who is visiting the memorial spot in Walsall for their kind words and beautiful gestures.

"In particular, we would like to thank the local residents who supported Arjun during his final moments. It has brought out a great sense of community spirit."

Some of the tributes at the crash scene

Around 50 bouquets of flowers were left at the scene in Pelsall Lane. Balloons, cards, candles and drinks have also been left in tribute to the teenager, who was one of seven people involved in the crash.

A 19-year-old man from the Seat Leon has since been discharged from hospital.

A man and woman from the parked Chevrolet Trax have also now been discharged, as well as their nine-year-old daughter who was released at the weekend.

West Midlands Police are continuing their investigation – and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: "Our Serious Collision Investigation Team are continuing to appeal for information.

"We are still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, but has not yet spoken to officers, and may have dash cam footage."

Anyone with information is urged to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting log number 3882 of March 26. Alternatively, they can email fl_collision_invest@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk.
