Tutor service to open in Walsall town centre
A tutoring service to help Walsall youngsters improve their English, maths and science is set to be opened in the town centre.
Learn to Achieve has been grated approval to take over office space in a property in Ablewell Street to provide education for pupils up to the age of 16.
It currently operates from a base in Queen Mary Street, Palfrey, but said a town centre base would be “extremely sustainable” and plan to provide more services from the facility in future.
Currently, Learn to Achieve provides weekend tutoring covering the three subjects as well as weekday “homework booster services” at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4.
It is open for children aged between six and 16 and there are no more than eight pupils per class held.
In its application, the company said it has five teachers and operates 3.15pm to 7pm on a Mondays, 5pm to 7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 10am to 6pm on a Saturday.
Agents J T Design Partnership said: “The applicants have been providing private education for students, trading at another venue from November 2017.
“They provide educational booster sessions in maths, English and science. In the future, the aim is to provide day education support for children of families that take home education and adult learning classes.
“The business operates a transport service for pupils to avoid any parking issues and traffic congestion at drop off and pick up times.
“Also, the hours the centre operates does not clash with other office users so there would never be insufficient parking spaces for their operation. The pupils will be guided to their classrooms by their tutors.
“The site is extremely sustainable being located with the centre of Walsall.”
