Walsall mayor and mayoress visit Morrisons in community aid discussions
A mayor and mayoress visited a Morrisons store to discuss working together for the community.
Walsall's Mayor Paul Bott and Mayoress Chris Bott visited the Bescot store on Thursday.
The pair were shown the 'pick up packs', which customers can buy to be donated to food banks.
Serina Sahota, community champion at Morrisons Bescot, said: "The mayor has two charities he raises money for and we were trying to find out how we can help with that.
"We showed them our pick up packs, we make these little bags and put in items you wouldn't think to donate but are really needed such as nappy cream, women's razors and men's toiletries so customers can pick them up and take them to the till and drop them off for the food banks.
"We price them from about £1 to £7.
"The mayor and mayoress loved the idea as they'd had a lot of people come to them, and as grateful as they are for the food, life isn't all about eating, we want to give people back their dignity."
The group also enjoyed afternoon tea.
