Emergency crews at two-car smash in Walsall

Emergency crews rushed to a busy Walsall commuter road this morning after a two-car crash.

The smash involved a white BMW and a blue Toyota at the junction of Bentley Lane and Bentley Drive, in Reedswood, shortly after 8am.

The BMW driver was taken to hospital, while the Toyota driver appeared to be unhurt. Both women are believed to live locally.

Road closed

The road was closed for about 25 minutes resulting in queuing traffic between Lane Avenue and Old Birchills.

West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman Claire Brown said: "We were called by the police at 8.10am to reports of a two-car road traffic collision at the junction of the Bentley Lane and Bentley Drive.

"Two ambulances attended.

"We assessed a woman driver from one of the vehicles who was then conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital with injuries not believed to be serious."
