NCT Walsall hosts coffee mornings, walks, baby first aid courses and nearly new sales – all with the aim easing pressure on family life.

Park walks are held weekly at Walsall Arboretum each Thursday, meeting in the main car park at 11am.

And now members are looking for volunteers to give up as little as one hour a month to help out on the day.

Zarah McCarthy, branch co-ordinator for NCT, Walsall, said: "NCT aims to combat loneliness in new parents.

"It does this by providing various groups and classes – and the parks walks are just one of them.

"Both the parent and child benefit from these free weekly walks.

"Many say they feel more energised after the walk, and that their babies are also sleeping better."

The Arboretum Park Walk is run weekly during term time and is volunteer led.

Zarah added: "We are always on the look out for new volunteers, who can commit as little as one hour per month, to meet and greet parents and to lead a walk.

"Our walks last around 45 minutes, ending with a hot drink and a chat at the cafe."

Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to email coordinator.walsall@nct.org.uk or contact the team via its Facebook page.
