The 69-year-old served in the Royal Air Force for 12 years in the 1970s as a chef.

He had attended Aldridge's Remembrance Day services every year until this year when members of the Royal British Legion became concerned at his non-appearance.

But he was later found dead in his Walsall Wood flat.

A fundraising page was launched to pay for Mr Goulding's funeral, which raised more than £1,000.

And Aldridge RBL branch secretary Tam Miller appealed for members of the public to attend Mr Goulding's funeral.
