Royal British Legion members honour RAF veteran who died alone
A funeral has been held for an RAF veteran who died alone in his home.
Members of Aldridge's Royal British Legion attended Alan Goulding's funeral at Streetly Crematorium on Wednesday.
The 69-year-old served in the Royal Air Force for 12 years in the 1970s as a chef.
He had attended Aldridge's Remembrance Day services every year until this year when members of the Royal British Legion became concerned at his non-appearance.
But he was later found dead in his Walsall Wood flat.
A fundraising page was launched to pay for Mr Goulding's funeral, which raised more than £1,000.
And Aldridge RBL branch secretary Tam Miller appealed for members of the public to attend Mr Goulding's funeral.
