Green Lane in Walsall Wood has been closed since last Monday while a contractor carries out the work on behalf of Walsall Council.

The road is being dug up and new concrete pipes are being installed as the authority tries to stop the road flooding near Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy.

The work includes laying new concrete pipes under the road to carry water from a culvert

A spokesman for the council said that the pipes that run under Green Lane have become blocked over time, which has led to water building up.

The road is shut between the junctions of Mob Lane and Hall Lane and is expected to be shut until Friday (November 15).

It was temporarily reopened as part of the diversions for the Remembrance Sunday parade.
