Twenty-five firefighters tackle Bloxwich recycling centre blaze
Twenty-five firefighters were this morning tackling a blaze at a recycling centre in Bloxwich.
West Midlands Fire Service said a large quantity of rubbish was on fire inside the building on Fryers Road.
Five crews, from Walsall, Willenhall, Bloxwich and Aldridge, were at the scene.
West Midlands Fire Service tweeted: "Re: 5 pump fire Fryers Road, Bloxwich. Incident involves a large quantity of rubbish on fire approx 10m x 10m contained within the building which is approx 40m x 20m. 3 main jets in use.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "The incident is now being scaled down and three crews remain on scene.
"We were initially called at 6.48am to a large quantity of rubbish on fire.
"It's quite a severe fire with a significant amount of rubbish alight.
"Smoke has been coming from the scene and people living nearby are advised to keep windows shut."
