The crash took place on Hillary Street, Walsall, on Sunday at 7.20pm.

Two vehicles, a car and a van, had initially crashed on the road, before the van went through the front wall of Adam Beirne's house, who lives next door to Hillary Primary School. No-one was injured.

Mr Beirne said he wanted to highlight what he claims is a long-running issue with speeding on the road.

Mr Beirne, aged 52, said: "I would like to see speed measures put in place.

"There have been quite a few incidents where this keeps happening. They could put speed bumps down.

"If the school was open I don't know what could have happened.

"The road is is notorious for speeding. I want to see something done to slow the traffic down.

"At the end of the day someone could get killed."

Firefighters attended the scene and sent one fire engine and brigade response vehicle to the scene.

However the driver managed to drive his van out of Mr Beirne's garden, he said.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: "We had a call to a road traffic collision involving two cars.

"There was no casualties or anyone trapped. A vehicle had driven into an exterior wall but the vehicles were made safe."

Pleck ward councillor Harbans Sarohi said: "The speed is the big problem on the road alongside parking."

Councillor Adrian Andrew, portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “The council reviews collisions involving injury to a person across the borough on an annual basis. The review informs our programme of road safety work, so road casualty reduction can be the most effective. A decision on whether traffic calming measures will be introduced in Hillary Street will be based on the findings of this review.”
