Man dies in fall from Walsall tower block

A man has died after falling from a tower block in Walsall.

Emergency services were called to the scene by neighbours after the man fell from a high-rise building on Friday evening.

The incident happened at a tower block on Tantarra Street, in The Chuckery estate.

The victim, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers cordoned off the road for a number of hours while they investigated.

Police have confirmed that they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “A man has died after falling from a tower block in Tantarra Street, Walsall on February 8.

“Police were called by a concerned neighbour at around 10.34pm. Unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man’s life and he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the coroner.”
