Woman left seriously injured after Walsall stabbing
A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in the stomach.
A 60-year-old woman was found with stab wounds in Victor Street, Walsall, yesterday in what is believed to have been an isolated domestic incident.
A 29-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody this morning.
The incident happened shortly after 7pm and the victim remains in hospital this morning.
A police spokeswoman said: "A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 60-year-old woman was found with stab wounds in Victor Street, Walsall yesterday. Officers were called around 7.10pm, where the woman was found with serious injuries to her stomach. She was taken to hospital, where she remains this morning.
"It is thought that this is an isolated domestic incident and the 29-year-old man remains in custody this morning. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 2125 of 18 June."
Palfrey and Caldmore Neighbourhood Watch tweeted a photograph last night showing two police cars and an ambulance at the scene and the road had been cordoned off.
