Six fire crews battle blaze at Walsall Burger King
Firefighters have been battling a blaze at Burger King in Walsall town centre.
Six crews from West Midlands Fire Service have been tackling the flames at the fast food restaurant on Park Street.
They were called to the fire at 9.11am this morning and at least one crew remained in the city centre throughout the morning.
Burger King and several nearby businesses, including Three, Natwest and H. Samuel, remained cordoned off at 1pm.
A spokesperson for the fire service said the fire was initially in a griddle but spread to the roof.
There are no reports of injuries to staff or the public.
The spokesperson also confirmed that 15 per cent of the restaurant's first floor was involved in the fire, while all of the ground floor was filled with smoke.
Neighbouring buildings have also been affected by the smoke.
Emergency services were holding a multi-agency debriefing at the restaurant in an attempt to establish how the blaze started.
