Walsall party murder victim named as Rezwan Ali
A student killed in a knife attack at a house party has been named by police as Rezwan Ali.
Detectives have appealed for anyone who was at the party in Willows Road, Chuckery, Walsall, to get in touch with them.
Officers were called to the road at 1.45am on Sunday morning after reports of a fight.
Rezwan, 19, was found collapsed in the kitchen with a knife wound to his chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives have already spoken to several people who were at the party – but have appealed for anyone else who was there, and has not yet spoken to officers, to contact the investigation team.
DCI Chris Mallett, from the force’s Homicide Unit, said: “We understand up to 50 people may have been at the party at some stage – and each of those is likely to have important information that can help our enquiry.
“We believe there was a fight at some stage and that has ultimately led to a young man losing his life.
"I would also urge the person responsible to do the right thing and get in touch so that we can hear their side of the story.
“This is a tragic loss of life and our thoughts are with Rezwan’s family and friends who are understandably shocked and distraught at what has happened.”
Anyone with information, or who was at the party in Willows Road, should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
