The Bloxwich Royal British Legion group have confirmed that a parade will go ahead in the town on November 12 from Bloxwich Memorial Working Men's Club.

Community groups from across the borough were left needing to find £4,000 towards traffic management costs after some of the funding needed to close roads was withdrawn last year.

Walsall Council will contribute 30 per cent of traffic management costs, up to £1,000, but the Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands pulled out of providing any funding in 2016.

Bloxwich Royal British Legion spokesperson Ann Barnes said: "We would like to thank the community who have helped us raise the money needed, particularly our local schools who have held non uniform days in support of our plans."

The Bloxwich Royal British Legion branch meets on the last Wednesday of every month at the Bloxwich Memorial Working Men's Club on Harrison Street at 8pm.
