Rachel Davey looks forward to 'A taste for Walsall ' at the Walsall College HUB next month

A Taste of Walsall festival will feature live music and a host of food stalls when it takes place on September 8/9.

The festival will be based at The Hub at Walsall College and has been organised by Shropshire's Festivals in partnership with the college.

Beth Heath, from Shropshire's Festivals, said: "What we have done is team up with Walsall College to try and do a street food festival with a live music stage. The college is also opening its door to offer taster sessions in its restaurant and in its hairdressing salon.

"We want to get people in to see the college as well as have a fun day out.

"Friday will be quite student orientated but we are open until late in the evening so we want people to come over, have their tea and enjoy some live music. We are of course on all day Saturday as well."

"It is a big event, it is not just like a small village fete. It is a proper little festival and will be one big party."

A Taste of Walsall takes place on Friday September 8 and Saturday September 9.
