They were all checked over by West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS).

An investigation is today under way into the cause of the blaze.

The fire service released images of the aftermath which showed a bed completely destroyed by flames whilst the rest of the room was almost entirely blackened and charred by smoke.

Posting the photographs on their Twitter feed they said: "5 crews attended flat fire on Wednesbury Road, Caldmore this afternoon. They arrived on scene within 2 mins 15 seconds.

"Crews also led 10 people to safety, all received checks from @OFFICIALWMAS (West Midlands Ambulance Service). Fire is confirmed out and ventilation is now taking place."

The fire was confirmed to have been dealt with by 6.13pm on the evening although the flames were likely extinguished some considerable time before.
