The ‘Walsall March Against Terrorism’ will be held at Bridge Street on July 1.

Walsall Police Neighbourhood Inspector Richard Eyles, said: “The event will be managed by local police officers, one of whom has been in regular contact with the organiser in order to understand his plans and ensure the event passes without incident.

"It is our understanding that attendees will take part in a short procession through the town centre along Bridge Street before arriving in Gallery Square.

“At present it is not clear how many people will attend.

“We have a duty to facilitate peaceful protest and will do so on this occasion as we have done before.

"However, criminality or breaches of the peace will not be tolerated and our officers will act decisively should there be any conflict or disorder."
