Police close A51 near Stone after crash
Police have closed a busy road in Staffordshire after a crash.
Staffordshire Police were called to the A51 near Stone, close to the Aston Maria at around 6.35am on Tuesday.
The road was shut close to the Lichfield Road junction.
A car ended up in a ditch, while a van also became stuck in flood water.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a collision on the A51 close to Aston Marina at around 6.35am.
"Officers discovered a car had ended up in a ditch while a van had become stuck in flood water.
"During the incident the A51 was closed close to the junction with Lichfield Road. The vehicles were subsequently recovered.
"The road was later reopened."
