Body found in canal
A man was found dead in a canal yesterday morning.
Police have said that the body of Ricky Broughton, 30, from Stone, was found in the Stone canal by a member of the public at 6:15am.
Officers attended and pronounced him dead at the scene.
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "At this stage the death is being treated as accidental and the matter has been passed to HM coroners.
"The next of kin are being informed and Staffordshire Police are supporting them at this very difficult time."
