Uninsured Land Rover driver stopped by police was man 'wanted for rape'

Staffordshire Police have shared the moment they caught a man wanted on suspicion of rape, driving uninsured and without a licence.

Officers in Stafford pulled over a man who was behind the wheel of a Land Rover last night (January 30). 

The bloke was wanted by Kent Police on suspicion of rape. 

However, when police found him on the roads - he also did not hold a full UK drivers license and uninsured. He was subsequently arrested and the vehicle was seized.

In a post on X, which included a photo of the incident, StaffsRCT wrote: "This Land Rover was stopped on @PoliceStafford  area as the male was wanted by @kent_police for Rape.

"He also did not hold a full UK driving licence and was not insured to drive the Land Rover. 

"The male has been arrested and vehicle seized."
