Appeal for witnesses to crash which killed Stafford motorcyclist, 53

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash in which a 53-year-old motorcyclist from Stafford was killed.

The crash happened on the A41 in Rosehill, near Market Drayton in Shropshire, at around 3.41pm on Saturday, on the southbound route from Ternhill towards Hinstock.

It involved a silver Yamaha motorcycle, a silver Peugeot 206 and white VW Polo.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and police have now confirmed he was a 53-year-old man from the Stafford area.

The drivers of the two cars suffered minor injuries, with the driver of the Polo attending Royal Stoke Hospital as a precaution.

The A41 was closed between Tern Hill and Wistanswick throughout Saturday evening as collision investigators examined the crash site.

Firefighters from Market Drayton, Hodnet and Wellington in Telford were all sent to the scene.
