Woman taken to hospital after car and lorry crash closes M6 near Stafford
A driver has been taken to hospital after a crash between her car and a lorry on the M6 near Stafford.
The M6 was closed southbound between Junctions 13 and 12 after the crash initially at about 1.30pm today.
Police and paramedics were called and the driver of the car was taken to hospital.
Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called at 1.25pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry on the southbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 13 and 12, Stafford.
"An ambulance and paramedic officer attended and assessed one woman, the driver of the car. She has been conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further checks."
