Elliot Wade, aged 22, is aiming to run 300km in 30 days to raise money for Alzheimer's UK.

Although he has run in the past and completed short distances, Elliot has never taken on a distance as great as this before.

He said: "I've never done anything like this before.

"Each day I'm varying the distances to make 300km by the end of the challenge, some days I am running 5km, 10km, 15km or 20km, depending how I feel, I'm making sure I get rest in between so I can push myself."

Elliot recently got a job at Wetherspoons just before the second national lockdown was enforced, causing all pubs, bars and restaurants to close once again.

He has now been furloughed from his position until at least December, but believes this is giving him something positive to focus on with his free time for a charity close to his heart.

He added: "My grandad died from Alzheimers a few years ago, so I thought while I am furloughed I would do something for charity.

"My dad, Glyn, and a few of my friends have also been running with me to support me."

Elliot began his challenge on November 6 and has so far raised £180 through his Facebook page from donations from family and friends.

He hopes to raise at least £300 to match the distance that he is running and £500 by the end of his 30 day challenge.
