Stafford Cricket and Hockey Club was hit by flooding on October 27 and more than 1ft of water covered the floors inside and out.

A fundraising campaign was launched to repair the damage caused, and now a reopening date has been set for February 28.

A spokeswoman for the club said: "After the flooding in October last year, I'm very pleased to confirm that Stafford Cricket & Hockey Club is re-opening for business.

"The management committee have worked tirelessly completing all the repairs required to ensure the club remained closed for as short a time as possible.

"We'll be holding a re-opening night on February 28 2020 from 7pm. We'd love it for as many people as possible to come down for drinks and nibbles to celebrate with us.

"We're extremely grateful to everyone that donated to our fundraising efforts helping to make the refurbishment possible."
