Police hunt driver after car crashes into front of Stafford shop
Police are hunting the driver of a car which crashed into the front of a shop in Stafford.
Firefighters, police and ambulance crews were called to the incident in Gaol Road, near to Stafford Prison.
No-one was trapped in the crash and fire crews made the building safe.
Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service tweeted:
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 12.31am to reports of an RTC.
"An investigation is currently ongoing to identify the driver.
"The road was closed for a short time during the incident as there was a smell of gas.
"All three emergency services attended and the incident was dealt with at the time."
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire Service said: "We were called at 12.31am this morning to a RTC on Gaol Road.
"Appliances from Stafford, Stone and Longton were sent to the scene."
