The collision happened at around 11.20am on Friday between Junctions 13 and 14 northbound near Stafford.

Drivers experienced delays of around 50 minutes as two lanes were closed until they reopened shortly after 12.30pm.

A male motorcyclist was treated for arm, hand and leg injuries. He also suffered a number of cuts to various parts of his body.

He was given pain relief before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said delays built up near the crash scene due to the volume of traffic.
