David Wilson Homes Mercia donated 60 hi-visibility bag tags to the school which is located near to the housebuilder’s St Mary’s Gate development on Tixall Road, for the school’s pupils to wear while walking to and from school, making them easier to be seen in the dark.

Victoria Evans, principal at St Johns CE Primary Academy, said: “We really appreciated this kind donation. It is essential that our children are safe and the tags will enable our children to be seen on dark evenings. ”

John Fitzgerald, managing director of David Wilson Homes, said: “We want to urge pupils to keep safe and seen on the roads, and our donation of hi-visibility bag tags to the school will help keep the children safe as the nights draw in as they travel to and from school.”

The nearby David Wilson development at St Mary’s Gate consists of two, three and four bedroom homes with prices starting at £180,000.

David Wilson Homes is part of the UK's biggest housebuilder, Barratt Group, which sold 17,395 homes in the 12 months to June 2017.
