A cyclist was airlifted to hospital after being trapped underneath a car.
Emergency services were called to the crash at the junction of Crooked Bridge Road and Prospect Road near Stafford Prison.
The injured man was initially trapped underneath the car before being freed.
He suffered multiple injuries which required treatment by the doctor and ambulance staff at the roadside.
It happened at around 4.50pm on Tuesday.
An ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands air ambulances from Cosford and Tatenhill attended; one had a MERIT trauma doctor on board.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The cyclist, a man, was initially trapped underneath the car and, once freed, ambulance staff were able to fully assess his condition.
“The man’s condition was stabilised before he was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital, a specialist major trauma centre, for further care.”
