The Red White and Blue pub in Featherstone closed in 2021, and was severely damaged in an arson attack in April last year.
A committee of villagers tabled a bit of £350,000 to buy the pub and run it as a community enterprise, but was rebuffed by owner Stonegate which said it had received several better offers.
In September last year, South Staffordshire Council received a planning application to demolish the pub, and replace it with 15 homes, a convenience store and a new, smaller pub.
