Dozens of campaigners stood guard last night as they attempted to stop any potential overnight works and protect the demolished site from theft.

The overnight protests started at around 9.30pm, with protesters blocking the access gate and posting live videos to the Save The Crooked House Facebook page.

Drones photographs taken by Express & Star photographer Tim Sturgess show the devastating landscape now that they pub has been torched and demolished. Diggers and work equipment can also be scene on site after a construction firm moved in yesterday.

The group blocked off the entrance of demolished building with a sit down protest yesterday afternoon following rumours on the Save The Crooked House Facebook page announcing that bricks would be removed today.
