Early morning car crash leaves major Staffordshire road closed
A major road in Staffordshire was closed on Saturday morning due to a car crash.
National Highways reported shortly after 7am that the A5 had been closed northbound between the M6 and A449 at Gailey in the south of the county.
The agency said that Staffordshire Police and recovery crews were at the scene before announcing the road's reopening at around 8.40am.
During the closure drivers were being diverted along the M6, A460, M54 and A449.
