Two men treated by medics after carbon monoxide leak

Two men were left needing medical treatment after a carbon monoxide leak at a Lichfield property today.

Fire crews from Lichfield, Tamworth and Cannock and an ambulance crew from West Midlands Ambulance service were called to the property in Boathouse Field at around 12.30pm.

The fire crews worked to evacuate the premises and ventilate the building.

Two men at the scene were treated by paramedics but were discharged at the scene.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from Lichfield, Tamworth and Cannock called to reports of a carbon monoxide leak at a property in Boathouse Field, Lichfield, at around 12:30 this afternoon.

"The premises was evacuated and the property ventilated.

"Two men were left in the care of the ambulance service."

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 11:50am to reports of a carbon monoxide leak at a property in Boathouse Field, Lichfield.

"We sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.

"Crews treated two patients, both men, and they were discharged at the scene."
