Busy road shut for hours after two-car crash near Lichfield
A busy road in Staffordshire was shut for hours this morning after a crash involving two cars.
The northbound carriageway of the A38 was shut between Fradley and Alrewas, in the Lichfield area, following a crash at about 6.30am.
Emergency services attended and one person had to be removed from their car.
West Midlands Ambulance Service crews carried out precautionary checks on all of the vehicles' occupants.
Motorists reported being stuck on the road for hours while the scene was cleared and the vehicles recovered.
One of the carriageway's two lanes opened again by 8.30am and the other was reopened by 11am.
