Michelle Baker was appointed in July after working in town and city centre management for the last 12 years.

The creation of a new brand and identity for Hednesford town centre is currently in development and a business survey is underway to better understand the issues and concerns of local businesses.

The next stage will be addressing the feedback.

Filling the town centre's empty shops is a main priority and making it a more attractive place to visit and do business is also on the agenda.

A new business forum will be formed so local businesses are connected and have a voice on the issues that affect them.

Projects to clean up the town including graffiti removal, weeding and repair of brick borders – which is scheduled to take place within the next few weeks.

Delivering a year-round programme of events including a monthly farmers' market, annual food festival, car shows and an open air cinema are all plans for the town in 2021.
