Fundraiser launched as funeral still not held eight months after mystery Hednesford deaths
A fundraising appeal has been launched to help pay for the funeral of a man found dead in a Hednesford house eight months ago.
The bodies of Jacqueline Matthews, 49, and father-of-one Jordan Regan, 27, were found at a detached house on Hill Street on May 16 last year.
At the time Staffordshire Police confirmed they were not looking for anybody else in relation to the deaths, which they were treating as "unexplained," and the cause of death remains unconfirmed.
The family of Mr Regan, who was originally from Battersea in London, have not been able to hold a funeral as the inquest has still not been completed.
Now Mr Regan's sister, Jade Regan, has launched an online fundraising page to raise £4,000 to transport his body to London, pay for his funeral, and fund memorial benches in both London and Staffordshire.
Jade, 29, said: "It'll be eight months since he died on the 16th.
"We're originally from London, we're going to be transporting him back down here to have the funeral.
"We can't yet plan the funeral yet.
"We don't know how he died, it's all such a mystery. It's been absolutely devastating.
"My mum has just been working working working to get money as funerals aren't cheap, especially with him being transported back to London.
"But I wanted to alleviate some of the stress, so I started the fundraising page.
"We were very much chalk and cheese but we loved each other dearly.
"He was very outgoing, funny, he had problems over the years but he was a good boy, he was well loved, it makes this all so much harder."
The pair's inquests opened in May and a provisional date has been set for the full inquest for March 31.
