Woman found dead at flat named as police investigation continues
A woman found dead at a flat near Cannock has today been named as police continue with an investigation.
Kerry Cast, aged 40, was found at the home in Herondale, Hednesford, at around 2.20pm on Saturday.
Police say her death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will take place.
Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A detailed forensic examination of the property is underway and officers are carrying out inquiries in the area.
A police cordon remained in place near homes in the road today while investigations continue.
A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "We are still at the scene carrying out inquiries to establish the cause of death.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who had seen Kerry in recent days, or knows of any visitors who called on her, in order to piece together her recent movements."
Officers asked anyone with information to call police on 101 quoting incident 481 of July 1, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
