Constable injured in line of duty gives tearful thanks for royal honour
A police officer who was injured in the line of duty has expressed her feelings at being recognised in the King's Birthday Honours.
Claire Bond, from Staffordshire, has said that she was "in tears" after receiving news that she would be honoured in the Kings Birthday Honours and receive the British Empire Medal (BEM).
In 2018 the Staffordshire Police constable was injured in the line of duty when she risked her life stopping an out-of-control driver who was fleeing from police in Coton Fields, Stafford.
