Man, 90, hit by delivery van in Cannock
A 90-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a delivery van in Cannock.
The pedestrian suffered a head injury when he was hit by the vehicle on Longford Road at the junction of Dartmouth Avenue.
He was treated at the scene for "potentially serious injuries" before he was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment.
The incident took place at around 4pm on Sunday, with the driver – a 27-year-old man – currently helping police with their enquiries.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to the junction of Longford Road and Datmouth Avenue in Cannock at 3.54pm on Sunday to reports of an RTC in which a van had collided with a pedestrian. An ambulance attended the scene.
"An elderly man was treated at the scene for potentially serious injuries before he was taken to the major trauma centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment."
