Museum of Cannock Chase has a new exhibition from Staffordshire artist Mary Dennis

Mary Dennis's exhibition called 'Beauty of the Natural World' is on show at the Museum of Cannock Chase until October 31.

She said: "I generally work in acrylics, there is one sea scape, some of birds, there's a couple of landscapes but it's animals mostly.

"I paint other things but I thought for this I'd have a theme with all the things that I find beautiful in the natural world.

"I worked in the pottery industry all of my working life, so it was very tiny pieces, so in retirement I wanted to still paint so it was quite a change from ceramic painting to on canvas.

"It's been quite a journey for me really.

"I've had one full exhibition before, but I used to belong to a group and we used to show together.

"It's just nice to get your work on show really."

The museum is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm and there is no charge.
