Plans for war memorial on Cannock island
A First World War memorial could be built on an island in Cannock if plans are given the green light.
Heath Hayes and Wimblebury Council has applied for the silhouette of a soldier to be constructed on Five Ways Island, in Hednesford Road.
The application was submitted to Cannock Chase Council after an initial planning application was refused last year.
The first application was turned down because of 'insufficient information' being provided in regards to the size and weight of the proposed silhouette and how it will be installed onto the roundabout.
Cannock Chase Council will make a decision on the plans in the coming weeks.
