Arriva Midlands is set to introduce the changes which will see a number of timetable and route amendments on the busiest routes, and the addition of a number of evening and morning services where customers have requested it.

Once implemented on January 26, there will be an increased 20 minute frequency for journeys between Cannock and Stafford town centres at peak times, two new evening journeys, and the introduction of late night buses on Friday and Saturday evenings.

There will be later buses connecting passengers from Rugeley and Wolverhampton to Cannock, plus service 825 has been re-timed to ensure it meets evening trains arriving into Lichfield city, facilitating more seamless end-to-end journeys on public transport.

A dedicated hospital shuttle bus is also being launched from Stafford town centre, running every 15 minutes at off-peak times on Mondays to Fridays, and half hourly at all other times.

Simon Mathieson, area managing director for Arriva Midlands North, explained: “We are constantly reviewing our services in Staffordshire so that we can swiftly address any opportunities to improve our offering.

"Since we last amended our network in October we have been diligently monitoring each of our routes, and these latest changes are as a direct response to punctuality statistics, passenger boarding numbers and customer feedback. We are confident that once these amendments come into force, many of our loyal customers will soon experience the better, more effective bus travel.”

Full timetables and route maps will be available at arrivabus.co.uk/midlands.Check on-bus and on social media for additional updates, including details of local events.
