Pensioner seriously hurt after being hit by van in Cannock
A pensioner has suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a van in Staffordshire.
The 67-year-old man is currently in Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital after the crash in Cannock on Saturday.
Officers from Staffordshire and West Midlands serious collision investigation unit are appealing for witnesses following the crash, which saw a white van and a pedestrian collide just before 7.30pm on Cannock Road, near to its junction with John Street.
A 21-year-old from Cannock has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop following a road traffic collision and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dash-cam footage should contact 101 quoting incident number 756 of October 13.
