Car overturns in crash near apartments

The crash happened outside homes close to Cannock Chase on Thursday evening.

The blue Volkswagen rolled over onto its roof in the crash in Brindley Heath Road at around 8.30pm.

Three people inside the car managed to scramble free from the wreckage as officers arrived, said Cannock Police.

Officers said: "Thankfully both the driver and passenger walked away uninjured however it could have been much worse."

Staffordshire Police confirmed no-one was injured in the crash.

The car suffered damage to its roof, side and front in the collision which ripped metal railings out of the ground.

The car narrowly avoided balconies at a three-storey block of apartments.

An investigation into the circumstances of the crash was under way.
