Cannock Chase Forest closes as Storm Jorge arrives
Cannock Chase Forest has been closed as Storm Jorge arrives.
The forest, car park, facilities and trails all closed at 3pm today and will remain closed until checks have been carried out.
Cannock Chase Forest posted on social media saying: "Unfortunately we will be closing Cannock Chase Forest at 3pm today due to predicted storm conditions later this afternoon.
"Our car park, facilities and trails will remain closed until safety checks can be carried out.

"We will post an update once checks have been completed and the site is able to reopen.
"Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for bearing with us."
The news comes just two weeks after the forest had to close with Storm Dennis's arrival.
And parts of the forest were already closed this week for four weeks to allow about 800 trees to be felled as they had contracted disease Red Band Needle Blight.
