The target of £750 to fix Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's bird hide roof was reached in two days after dozens of people donated.

The building is used to see wildlife and any funds used over what is needed will be used to further upgrade the building.

Jon Owen, press and social media officer for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, said: "The bird hide is a well used part of our Wolseley Centre HQ, so when we'd assessed the damage from Storm Ciara, we were keen to get it repaired as soon as possible.

"People who use the bird hide get to see an array of wildlife, and often see the much loved kingfishers which can be spotted by visitors at Wolseley.

"The money will allow us to repair the roof and carry out further upgrades to the bird hide."
