Woman cut from car after crash on Cannock Chase

A woman had to be cut out of a car by firefighters after a crash on Cannock Chase.

The two-car crash happened between Marquis Drive and Birches Valley Visitor Centre at about 3pm yesterday.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 3.05pm yesterday two crews from Cannock attended along with one of our officers.

"It was a collision involving two vehicles, one woman was trapped because of the damage to the vehicle.

"Firefighters released a woman from the vehicle and they were all left in the care of the ambulance service."

All eight occupants of the two cars were discharged at the scene with minor injuries.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called at 2.56pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Birches Valley and Marquis Drive.

"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

"There were eight occupants of the three vehicles, three of whom required assessment from ambulance staff. Thankfully, they were all able to be discharged on scene with minor injuries.”
