One man dead and two injured after fatal Staffordshire car crash

A 21-year-old man has died and people injured following a fatal car crash in Staffordshire last night (Saturday).

Staffordshire Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision on the A34 Stone Road around 8.15pm.

It happened at about 8.30pm when a grey BMW estate and a black Renault Clio collided on the southbound carriageway, between Trentham Gardens and the Monkey Forest island.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Officers went to the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"Sadly, a 21-year-old local man, who was driving the BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the BMW and the driver of the Clio were taken to hospital with injuries that were not deemed life-threatening."

The spokesman added: "We’re appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or those travelling between Trentham and the Monkey Forest island at about 8.15pm last night to get in touch with us, particularly those with dashcam footage."
