Police car almost hit by rubble falling from unsafe skip lorry

A lorry carrying an unsafe skip left a trail of debris through a Staffordshire village narrowly missing a pursuing police car.

The skip lorry pulled over in Shenstone

Officers spotted the skip lorry driving through Shenstone on New Year's Day and gave chase almost being hit by rubble.

Staffordshire Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "We followed this skip lorry with an unsheeted/netted load through Shenstone, narrowly avoiding the waste flying out of the skip into path of our marked BMW.

"Driver retraced his route to collect the contents after being reported for their very insecure load. #LichfieldPolice."
