Man dies in house fire in Staffordshire
A man has died after a fire in the garage of a home in Staffordshire.
Emergency services were called to Crawley Lane, in Kings Bromley, at around 5.20pm.
A man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a garage fire at a property on Crawley Lane, Kings Bromley, at 5.20pm on Friday, March 5. Crews from Lichfield, Rugeley and Burton and extinguished the fire.
"Sadly, a man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene. A fire investigation is underway."
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service at 6.10pm on Friday, March 5, to reports that a man had died in a garage fire on Crawley Lane, Kings Bromley.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for HM Coroner."
