Four-lorry crash closes M6 near Stafford
A crash involving four lorries closed the M6 near Stafford today.
Highways England and paramedics were called to the scene on the northbound carriageway between Junctions 14 and 15 just after 11am.
Two people were assessed by paramedics and one of them was taken to hospital.
A spokesman for Highways England said: "We’ve been dealing since just after 11am with a collision involving four HGVs on the northbound M6 between junctions 14 and 15.
"Two lanes were initially closed before the northbound carriageway was completely closed for a period due to a leak of hydraulic fluid and LPG spillage. Lane 3 has since reopened, with the other two lanes being checked for any surface damage.
"There was also a broken down LGV in lane 2 northbound at junction 14."
Claire Brown, spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "Called at 11.57am to the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 13-14, Stafford to reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving five HGVs.
"Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended. Two patients required assessment; on was discharged on the scene and the second required further treatment and was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital."
